Additional Ceremony Options
Unity Sand Ceremony - The Unity Sand Ceremony is a meaningful symbolic joining of two lives. In this lovely ritual of marriage, the couple (and their children, if desired) ceremoniously pour various colors of sand from separate containers into one special container, the Unity Vase, symbolizing their coming together as one.
The blending of the sand represents the union not only of them, but their friends and families as well. The separate sands once poured into the Unity Vase can never be put back into their separate vases. They are forever entwined just as the lives and loves of the Bride and Groom.
It provides a way for couples to brilliantly show the joining of the flow of their two lives into a single stream with their individually colored sands joining as one in the Unity Vase.
Unity Candle Ceremony - The Unity Candle tradition is simply a large candle set up near the couple. The Bride and Groom each hold a lit taper candle and together light the larger unity candle. Then, the couple blows out their individual candle and the Unity Candle now represents two becoming one.
Love Letter Ceremony - Before the wedding day, the Bride and Groom each write a letter stating their reasons for wanting to marry the other, and what it is that makes their wedding day such a special day for them. The letters are then placed in envelopes and sealed.
At the wedding ceremony, the couple stand in front of a special box. The box contains two wine glasses and a bottle of wine.
The couple is then instructed that should anytime in their marriage they have doubts whether they still want to be married to each other, they are to bring out this box and unlock the contents. They are then advised to share a glass of wine, and then exchange the Love Letters.
The couple can be further instructed to use the box as a time capsule should they not face a rough patch and open it on their fifth wedding anniversary (or another special occasion).
After the explanation to the couple and to the wedding guests, the Bride and Groom exchange their letters and place them in the box. Once placed, the Bride and Groom then lock the box.
The Love Letter Ceremony is a romantic ceremony that is intended to remind you of all the reasons you chose this person to spend your life with and to never take your blessings of being together for granted.
Seashell Blessing Ceremony - While guests are arriving they are asked to choose a beautiful shell from a basket. At the end of the ceremony the couple and their guests are directed to the water’s edge. A special verse is read, the couple counts to 3, and everyone tosses their Blessing Shell into the ocean together. Not only is it a special photographic moment, but it is a way for everyone in attendance to be involved in this special day!
Message Stone Blessing Ceremony – The same as the Seashell Blessing Ceremony, only stones with messages etched onto them (such as Hope, Dream, Love) are used instead of shells.
Family Tree Ceremony – This lovely ceremony incorporates the Bride, Groom, and their children, if desired. Everyone gathers around an Oak Tree sapling (or a tree of your choice) while a verse is read about the specialness of this new Family Tree. Then each person takes a turn sprinkling water on the tree. After the wedding, you plant the tree in a special place at home and everyone can take care of their Family Tree as it grows.
